Our Market page attributed the estimate of €1.9 billion total Finnish gambling GGR for 2026 to H2 Gambling Capital. We had not verified that attribution. The figure is an industry estimate reported by iGaming Business in May 2026, and the page now says so. The figure itself is unchanged. The error was in naming a source we had not confirmed, which is the kind of mistake this publication exists to avoid.
Our LeoVegas profile described the company as the only publicly confirmed Finnish licence applicant. That was accurate when written on 15 September but became wrong when Veikkaus confirmed its own applications. The profile now describes LeoVegas as the first company to confirm publicly, and as one of two company-confirmed applicants. We are recording this because a claim of exclusivity that quietly stops being true is more misleading than an ordinary error.
We stated in several places that the National Police Board's target processing time for a licence application is around six months. The Board's own published figure is six to eight months. The guides and the lead analysis have been corrected, and the fees guide now notes that some published legal commentary gives a different range, and that where secondary sources differ from the authority we follow the authority. The difference matters: an eight-month target means an application filed late in 2026 may not be decided much before the market opens, leaving little room for the audits and regulator integration that must follow.
Our directory carried a single entry called Finnish Gambling Association, stating that Veikkaus had joined it and that it had campaigned for the end of the monopoly. Finland has two separate organisations whose English names translate almost identically: Rahapeliala ry, the operator trade body founded in 2022 that campaigned for licensing, and Suomalainen Rahapeliyhdistys, which uses the English name Finnish Gambling Association and is an expert and stakeholder organisation. We had conflated them. Both now have their own entry, and the claim that Veikkaus joined a particular one has been removed pending a source that identifies which.
On 16 September we removed an attribution of the €1.9 billion market estimate to H2 Gambling Capital, saying we had not verified it. We have now verified it: iGaming Business reports the figure as H2 Gambling Capital data. The original attribution was right and our correction was overcautious. The page now gives the full chain, H2 Gambling Capital via iGaming Business. We record this because a corrections log that only records errors in one direction is not a complete account of what we got wrong.
Our market timeline dated the start of the reform project to October 2023. That date was not sourced. The Ministry of the Interior drafted the proposal and opened it for public consultation in July 2024, and the timeline has been corrected. We have also added the parliamentary vote of 16 December 2025 and the presidential confirmation of 16 January 2026, which were missing.
Our lead analysis was published on 15 September stating that one applicant was identifiable. It has been updated twice since, first to three and then to four applicants, as Hippos ATG, SpinCore Group and Veikkaus were sourced. This is an update rather than a correction: the original statement was accurate when published. We record it here because the headline changed.
