National Police Board

The National Police Board, through its Gambling Administration, is the authority responsible for gambling licensing and supervision in Finland until 30 June 2027.

The Board has accepted gambling licence applications since 1 March 2026 and confirmed 50 applications received by June 2026, the majority from companies based outside Finland. It states a target processing time of six to eight months, has confirmed that applications are accepted continuously with no fixed deadline, and has asked applicants to stop requesting status updates so staff can concentrate on assessment.

It does not publish the identities of applicants. That decision is the central constraint on public knowledge of who is entering the Finnish market, and the reason our Licence Tracker is assembled from company statements and verified reporting rather than from a register.
