LeoVegas Group

LeoVegas Group operates online casino and sportsbook brands across Europe. The group was acquired by MGM Resorts International in 2022 and continues to operate as a separate entity. It holds licences in several regulated European markets.

Managing Director for the Nordics Fredrik Wastenson confirmed in late May 2026 that LeoVegas had submitted two licence applications to the Finnish National Police Board, roughly two months after the application window opened. Speaking at NEXT Summit Valletta, he indicated the group did not regard being live on the first day of the market as essential, and pointed to areas where the Finnish rules still required clarification.

That remark reads differently alongside the three conditions that must be met before any operator can trade: a granted licence, completed audits and a finished integration with the regulator's supervision system.

LeoVegas was the first company to confirm a Finnish licence application publicly. Veikkaus subsequently confirmed applications of its own, so LeoVegas is now one of two company-confirmed applicants in our Licence Tracker. No licence decision can take effect before 1 July 2027.
